Why We Started

A Ranch Built on Trust & Tradition

We started Twisted Bit with a simple idea: what if boarding felt less like a business and more like leaving your horse with a trusted friend? What if "boutique" meant the small things — the way a stall is bedded, the way a horse is greeted, the way a rider is welcomed — done with intention?

Rooted in the traditions of the Texas Hill Country and elevated by careful, personalized service, our ranch is a place where horses thrive and riders feel at home. We keep the herd small on purpose. We live on the property so we know every horse by name, temperament, and quirk.

Come by for a tour. Meet the herd. See if Twisted Bit feels like the right place for the next chapter of your riding life.

"We treat every horse like it's our own — because for the time you're with us, it is."

— The Twisted Bit Family

Meet Your Rancher

Hi, I'm Clare Scott

For me, it all started with a single pony ride — and I never looked back. Growing up in Austin, Texas, I trained at Switch Willow until I was 14, when my family moved to Indiana. I kept riding, left competition behind, and eventually headed to upstate New York to study Equestrian Business Management. That's where my Texan body staged a full revolt against the bitter cold, and I had to step out of the saddle for a while.

When I returned to riding in my mid-twenties, something had changed. I fell in love with horses all over again — but this time it wasn't about collecting blue ribbons. It was about the quiet, powerful connection between horse and rider. That connection grounded me spiritually and deepened my faith. I couldn't be who I am today without Jesus and the way He has shaped my life. We don't always understand the path He leads us down, but every step of mine — the moves, the setbacks, the years away from the saddle — prepared me to build a place where horses and riders can connect, grow, and have fun doing it.

That place is Twisted Bit Ranch. Every horse here is treated like my own (and believe me, they get spoiled). Whether you're working toward the show ring or simply looking for an equine companion, we'd love to have you.
